I put together a couple prototype belts made out of used bike parts. I have been wearing the larger one for awhile now and have been getting tons of compliments. They are really comfortable to wear and do a great job of keeping your trousers up. I plan on making more and having them for sale at the shop and maybe online. They will come in different sizes, and then you can fine tune the size with a chain tool by adding or removing a link of the chain. Putting the belt on is as easy as pulling the chain around the cog and if you ever snap your chain on a ride you will have a good amount of spare links on your belt. Obviously they will come in different styles with wider and narrower tires, larger and smaller cogs, and different colored tires and chains, depending on what used stuff we have at the shop.

ESPI 4 took place in Boston last week and our boy Croth was on hand for most of the weekends events. He not only managed some sick video of the action but also compiled a ton of cool shots of the huge selection of wheel art. More photos here. I’d like to send a special thank you to the guys from Ottawa for coming out to DO IT AGAIN at Zuzu on Sunday night after the finals were over and rocking the joint, I have never seen a breakdance battle quite that epic before.

We just got our first pair of the LE Phil Wood 3.5 Track hubs in today. The hubs are more beautiful than I could have ever imagined and it is making me that much more excited for the Gold Plated jammers to drop. Each hubset is laser engraved with the serial number and also comes with a Dog Tag including the number out of how many made, serial number, color, and on the reverse the signature of the Designer, Engineer, Machinist, and Assembler of the hubs. We are 1 out of a handful of shops in the world lucky enough to get some of these amazing hubs, so shoot us an email if you are interested in getting a pair.

We recently finished out design for our first Superb cycling cap and are now eagery waiting for them to be completed. The caps are made in the US by Pace, and in my opinion are the most comfortable and best looking caps you can get (besides Pedal-Strike, of course!) The design was put together by myself and Mr Croth with the elements coming from our friends and local artists, Andrew Snowden and Ali Horeanopoulos. Expect to see these beauties for sale early this summer and if you would like to pre-order one please send a messege to info at superbbicycle dot com.

Activision is set to release a new game this fall in the same realm as guitar hero and rock band, this time taking aim at the DJs in all of us. I think most people at one time or another have been able to let their inner DJ out wether it be just playing your favorite tracks at your house party or making a mix tape for that special someone, but with DJ Hero, now you can pretend to actually spin those records and feel the beat. I know there will be tons of haters coming out against this as they did about guitar hero, etc but you gotta remember, its just a game!
