Store Site Demolition.. First 3 days

posted by on 2009.07.02 , under Superb Renovation

We are now on our 4th day of Demolition and Construction of the new Superb Retail location. The Demo went surprisingly fast and everyone is working really hard to get this project underway.

So far we removed all the layers of old stores, going back what seemed like centuries.

Previous owners attempted to renovate the place by simply adding new layers of stuff on top of what was previously there, so we had to remove multiple layers of material from almost every surface to get back to basics. We love the brick we uncovered on the far wall.

The building must have known we had a thing for damask wall paper because after removing 3 layers of stuff we happened upon this!

Stay tuned.

I just found the pics of your renovations and hope to stop by next time I’m up in Boston. They remind me of a shop a friend of mine once owned (when I say I mean Bikes of course). His place was in an old diner, which had been expanded. While the original cladding was long gone, we found above the drop ceiling its lovely almost perfect curved panels. Seeing that I immediately suggested redoing the storefront to return the diner look (and provide friends, and customers alike coffee). He thought it was a great idea. But, nothing ever came of it.
