New Brooks Saddle: Colt
We recently had a shop visit from some of the fine gentleman from Brooks to keep us updated on the most recent things they have been working on as well as to sign us into their Dealers of Excellence Program. While they were here we chatted about the upcoming Vans x Brooks shoes and they showed me a sample of a Saddle they have coming out soon. So here is a sneak peek.

No, not a new saddle at all. The Colt was made in the 1980s, which is when I purchased mine (as a student this was the most affordable of the range). Perhaps because of the change of ownership in the company the saddle only appeared for a relatively short period of time and (I think) was only offered with a black steel frame. There are no eyelets on the back of the saddle for bags etc and the ‘ cut’ of the saddle, with deeper sides than the contemporary racing models, offered more support for us heavier riders! My Colt has done very well over the years and it thoroughly deserves a relaunch.
Is this model really new? Today I bought exactly the same model in a second hand store here in Sweden. 40 SEK (about $ 6)… A bargain or what?
