Cinelli Mash: Custom Build

We are in the process of building up a sick Cinelli Mash for Charles. Our mechanic Tom just finished lacing up some beautiful wheels for it, in the form of the super limited Phil Wood 3.5 track hubs (only 5 sets made in blue) Aerolite Bladed Spokes and H+Son Rims. Charles decided on a 2 cross lace pattern on the rear and radial front, good choice!

We are ready to build this beauty up, keep an eye out for the completed shots soon!

Newest Custom Build: Cinelli Mash Histogram

A few weeks ago we received a shipment of one of the most sought out frames of the year: the Cinelli Histogram. Tight geometry, carbon fork, aluminum frame, and aesthetically fantastic.

Chris came to us a week ago to browse frames and decided that today was the day for his new bicycle. Congrats Chris, here you have it:

New Superb Wheel Builds!

We have a lot of new wheel builds for sale all handbuilt to our Superb cartridge bearing high flange track hubs. These wheelsets would be perfect for that classy looking fixed gear or singlespeed.

Velocity Aero have that classic (you guessed it) Aero profile and are a good combo of lightweight and strong. We have these in High Polish Silver and Black. Price is $275 for a pair.

Sun M13II are a classic box section wheelset with eyeletted spoke holes for strength, these are also lightweight and look great on classic bikes! Price is $200 per set

Mavic Open Pro Wheelset has been the top level wheelset used by racers and recreational riders alike for years they are very light weight and use a double eyelet for excellent spoke strength. Price is $340 per set

The Mavic cxp22 wheelset is a more affordable wheelset from Mavic that still utlilizes features from the race level wheels. These are not as light as the Open Pros but are still much lighter than something like a velocity deep v and are exceptionally strong as well. Price is $250 per set.

Superb Custom Build: Dave’s Fuji

While most of our custom builds are constructed in the shop, one of our customers has chosen to customize his bike over an extended period of time.

Meet Dave.

Dave has been coming into our shop since it opened. Over the two years, he’s accumulated quite the assortment of components from us.

Fuji track pro, Thomson stem and seat post, neon green Aerospoke, Superb Chain ring, Velocity Polka Dot Deep V (with a purple Phil Wood hub mind you)…needless to say, Dave’s bike is probably one of the most noticeable and unique bikes cruising around Boston, which is precisely what he was going for.

Bike Porn: Eric’s Reminton

Our friend Eric stopped through the shop yesterday to pick up his new wheel that Tom our expert wheel builder just finished. I had to grab a few shots because it was looking so good in the Sun. It is a chrome plated H+Son rim laced 2 cross drive, radial non drive to a dura ace high flange hub.

Superb Wheel Build

If you have been following along you know we now have our own Superb Hubs! Thanks to the wonderful rainstorm this week our Mechanic Tom had a short break from all the spring tune ups to build up this wheelset. It has our Superb Hubs laced radially front and 2x rear to Velocity’s super strong triple walled B43 rims. Stop up and pick up this great handbuilt wheelset for only $360.

Superb Products

We just received some of our first Superb Products. The Superb Chain ring is 144 bcd and 49 tooth, and is made in Boston by Sessions Sprockets.

And these are our new Superb Hubs with sealed cartridge bearings and are available in Black and Silver. Let us build a set up to what ever rims you like!

Gold Plated Phil Wood 3.5 Anniversary Hubs #6/10

We just received a set of Phil Wood Gold Plated (not anodized..real gold) 3.5 Hubs. This set is number 6 of the 10 Gold Plated Hubs made in honor of Phil Wood’s 38th Anniversary. Only 100 hub sets were made in total, we also have a pair of Black, Silver, Purple and Blue. Stop in to check them out or plan what wheels you would like to build with them!

2010 GT Gutterball

We should be seeing the new 2010 GT Gutterballs in the shop sometime soon. I am really impressed by them this year, they look way cleaner than the 09 version, which wasn’t even bad to begin with. If you are looking for a nice aluminum track complete you can’t go wrong with this one, especially with the awesome GT mohawk hubs!
