Superb Sprint: Pre-Order

If you have been checking our online store you will have noticed we have been sold out of the Sprint Frameset in most sizes for a little while now. Don’t worry, we are in the process of building a new batch. We are already taking pre-orders for frames from this new batch and actually they are going much faster than anticipated. It looks like at this rate we will be sold out of many sizes before they even make it to the sales floor, therefore if you are looking to grab one in the next month or so to please call or email us to place a pre-order for your size and color choice so we can put one on hold for you. Color options are Polished Silver, or Matte Black and currently there is at least one of every size available for pre-order except XXS in Matte Black. The frames should be ready to ship out in the next 3-4 weeks and $200 reserves one for you.

Superb Vivace: Official Pre-Order

As promised we just opened up the pre-order on the Superb Vivace Framesets. We made a few tweaks to the prototype and are ready to start production after a short pre-order period. We decided to go with a higher end tubeset in the form of Italian Columbus Zona, but kept the retail price under $1000. All pre-orders get an introductory price of $899, with the standard retail price being $999. $300 down secures you a frame in your size and color choice. The frame will be available in 3 different colors, but we are offering a choice of 8 different colors to pre-orders only. Act soon, pre-orders end Feb 25th. Jesse’s Igleheart.

We just finished this Igleheart track build for our good palJesse . This is one of the few remaining frames we had Chris Igleheart build for the shop a few years ago and Jesse choose it for it’s lightweight and clean looks. The build is filled out with Campy Record hubs to torelli rims, Campy Record Headset, Nitto Jaguar stem, Nitto Risers, and IRD cranks.

All we have to say is: lovely.

Superb Sprint: Matte Black Custom

We just finished this XXS Matte Black Superb Sprint. I almost got frost bite of the fingers photographing it in 0 degree weather today in Boston. It was worth it though as this is definitely a looker! We are now sold out of the XXS in the matte black but we do have one left in the polished silver color. The XXS size is 45cm c-c seat tube and 51cm c-c top tube. If you prefer the Matte Black just give us a call or email and we can set up a pre-order for you. We do have the Matte Black left in S and L. Most pre-orders take 4-6 weeks. If you have any other questions feel free to send us an email.

Superb Sprint: New Color!

So we just re-upped some Sprint Frames in Matte Black. This is a super small batch so give us a call or email us quick to grab your size before they disappear again! We also have a Limited Edition one off Kawasaki Green (with sparkle clear coat) in size Medium. This is the only Sprint in this color and it could be all yours! The price hasn’t changed, still $699 frame and fork and $50 shipping to the US. Most other countries are $150 or less for shipping, but shoot us your address and we’ll get you a proper shipping quote. Fat Chance: Yo Eddy Race Bike!

We have an amazing Vintage Fat Chance Race Bike for sale in the shop. This one of a kind bike was built custom for Heidi back in 1990. Heidi was on the Fat City Race team and is also the founder of NEMBA. WOW!! She decided it is time to let this one move on, so now is your chance to own a piece of cycling history! This beautiful Somerville, MA built bike comes with a full prototype Campagnolo Mountain groupo. This was before Campy ever released their short lived Euclid Mountain Group and would be a great investment in itself. Add to that all the small custom details to this bike, like the snake wrapping around the brake noodle on the stem and the many dinosaur logos and you have yourself one very awesome collectors item! The frame measures 17″ center to top on the seat tube and 21.75″ top tube effective. We are asking $2000 but will consider all offers.

Glow in the Dark Bikes!

About 3 years ago while I was managing Cambridge Bicycle (before we opened Superb) I had an idea for a fixed gear bike that completely glowed in the dark. With the help of Marty from Geekhouse we made it happen, and it turned out pretty cool. Now 3 years later our phone is ringing off the hook because of this new cell phone commercial with glow in the dark bikes in it and everyone wants one! Well you are all in luck! We can build custom Glow in the Dark bikes similar to the one we built before. Starting price is about $1600 if you stick with basic components and turn around time is 1-2 months. These bikes will have glow in the dark frames, rims, and handlebar and are sure to turn a few heads. Now for the disclaimer. The bikes featured in the video are surely edited in some computer software to look super bright and in the real world, like most things that glow in the dark, after being charged by light they only glow for a little while. Also prolonged exposure to direct sunlight seems to turn the yellow glow in the dark finish a little bit green. However I had a U-lock coated in glow in the dark 3 years ago at the same time and it still works! Superb Vivace Track Frame Prototype

Earlier this summer we posted a few times about Superb Project X. Well that project has finally resulted in a finished Prototype. We believe all of the hard work we put into designing this frame was totally worth it after seeing the result. The Superb Vivace is made from Columbus Chromoly steel tubing utilizing elegant lugged construction. We had the entire frame and fork chrome plated for decades of rust free use and then painted over. We named this model “Vivace” after the lively and quick tempo in music, which we feel is one of the most important characteristics in a Track Frame . The Flat fork crown and rear drop outs are engraved on both sides with the Superb “S” logo and the rear bridge is engraved with the model name Vivace. As a true track frame expect very steep geometry and tight clearances. We will be putting this prototype through its paces and making any necessary tweaks in the coming weeks.
