Rob’s Battaglin Road Build

Rob found this vintage Battaglin frame and was determined to build it up with some nice vintage parts. We have all been there before right? What starts out as a simple project turns into a much more complicated drawn out process. Rob has been stopping by the shop pretty much every weekend this year in search of the right parts for his frame. The parts we didn’t have led to some deeper searching and after some good luck on ebay Rob had accumulated all the necessary bits. Then came our task of putting this beauty together. We are pretty excited with how it came out and Rob is pretty stoked too!

Mary’s Customized Bianchi Pista Via Brera

We just finished this great Customized Bianchi Pista Via Brera for Mary. She was in the market for a new bike for this summer and the Pista Via Brera spoke to her. With a few nice mods in the form of a Brooks B17s Saddle and a Velo Orange cruiser bar the bike was set up how she likes and ready for some fun in the sun! Enjoy it Mary!

My Superb Sprint

After putting in a bunch of miles on our Sprint Prototype I finally decided it was time to build myself one. I had one painted in sky blue metallic and I am really happy with how it turned out. The metallic flake is very understated but when the sun hits it, it really shines! I decided on black components to offset the light hue of the frame and I think the contrast really works, and it helps the gum wall tires pop. I have been commuting on it a few days now and I am super stoked with it. I went with some larger than average tires because of the number of horrible roads on my commute and the stiff frame and larger tires really work well to give an efficient buy comfortable ride. To fit the larger tires I used the standard brake hole fork, but had it plugged before it was painted. Well here is the components breakdown.

Jesse’s Superb Sprint

Jesse just picked up his Superb Sprint and took it back with him to LA to ride on the local Velodrome. He built it up with some nice components and used his skills for a little shoot. Jesse is a Pro Photographer and if you aren’t already you should follow his tumblr.

Spring is here!

Spring has arrived as evidenced by this great shot of Tu Yuan’s Superb Sprint. His photography continues to inspire and there is nothing more inspiring to get out and ride than a beautiful spring day. Personally one of my favorite times of year when the winter chill is gone and the summer heat has yet to arrive. Make use of these days, before they are gone!

Black Falcon Crit

I went down to this weeks Black Falcom Crit after closing the shop on thursday and arrived right as the race was starting. Both Tom, our Mechanic, and Jill where racing on their Superb Sprints and I wanted to try to get them in action. Sadly my night time action photography skills are quite lacking so what follows isn’t that great, but it gives you a decent idea at least. The Crit is about a mile lap that is done 15 times. Most people were riding road bikes but a select few where hanging in there on their track bikes. Tom didn’t have time to swap his bars after work so ending up racing in his risers, which turned out to be much harder than he anticipated. He said next time he will be putting on a more appropriate set of bars and putting on a smaller cog as well. However despite his so called handicap he still finished somewhere in the middle. Jill was better prepared with drop bars and a harder gear and ending up doing quite well. It was Jill’s first race on the Sprint and she said she fell in love it and is super excited to be racing track this year. We just finished another great Igleheart custom build from the batch of frames we had him build for us a few years back. No expense was spared here which turned this frame into a beautiful and lightweight fixed gear.

Jamal’s Custom Superb Sprint

Just finished another Superb Sprint build. This one is for Jamal, a local bostonian who wanted to be able to ride fixed and free. Tom built up the wheelset yesterday utilizing the braking ready H+son SL42′s. Then we finished the build out with Sram Omniums, Cinelli handlebar, stem and post, TRP Brake levers, Campagnolo Veloce Brakes, White Industries Freewheel, EAI Cog, and some super durable Vittoria Randonneur Tires.
