After putting in a bunch of miles on our Sprint Prototype I finally decided it was time to build myself one. I had one painted in sky blue metallic and I am really happy with how it turned out. The metallic flake is very understated but when the sun hits it, it really shines! I decided on black components to offset the light hue of the frame and I think the contrast really works, and it helps the gum wall tires pop. I have been commuting on it a few days now and I am super stoked with it. I went with some larger than average tires because of the number of horrible roads on my commute and the stiff frame and larger tires really work well to give an efficient buy comfortable ride. To fit the larger tires I used the standard brake hole fork, but had it plugged before it was painted. Well here is the components breakdown.

It seems to have it all, amazing good looks and is also one of the most comfortable saddles I have used. This particular saddle had seen a ton of wear to the point that the foam started to disintegrate. I decided that it might still be salvaged and removed the worn cover and stripped away the foam. My friend Alex, who also works at the shop, has mastered the art of saddle re-upholstery so I left the recover to his skilled hands. What we ended up with was a beautiful suede wrapped Concor without padding. I will update later on how the lack of padding effects the comfort, but I have to say it might even look nicer without the padding!

Almost 70 degrees and sunny makes for a nice change from the wind and snow from last week. I couldn’t resist taking our Superb Vivace prototype out for a little ride. The leaves were so beautiful I had to grab some photos.

We built up the Vivace with a lot of Campagnolo and Cinelli components and topped it off with a prototype Superb Saddle. Stop by the shop to see it in person and we should hopefully have production frames in a few months.

We wanted to introduce you to a few different types of Brooks saddles: the B17, B17s, Professional and Flyer.

The B17 has been making the derrieres of long distance touring and trekking cyclists happy for over a century. Available in both Honey and Black, with black rails. As with all Brooks saddles, these beauties are MADE IN ENGLAND!

The B17s is the lady specific equivalent of the tried and true B17, with a femme friendlier shape.
