As some of you might know, Back Bay had a huge fire yesterday, and today power is still out in large portions of the Back Bay area.
That means: forced day off for a variety of employees on Newbury street.
That also means: at night time, the streets are totally not illuminated and the eerie darkness makes for a kind of terrifying borderline unsafe bike ride home.
Don’t worry about it though, today we thought we’d remind you of the Serfas True series, awesome, wonderful front lights that will surely illuminate your path.

These babies are 150, 250 and 500 lumens respectively. Now what are lumens?
The SI unit of luminous flux, equal to the amount of light emitted per second in a unit solid angle of one steradian from a uniform source of one candela.
So, the larger the number, the brighter the light. Each one comes with a variety of different settings: Overdrive, High, Medium, Low, and Flash.
Each light lasts 3.5 hours on overdrive. True 150 and 250 last 8 hours on 50 lumens, while the True 500 can sustain energy for 8 hours on 100 lumens.
Now, all of that is numbers. Here’s a little demonstration of some of the power:

500, 250, 150.
Stay safe out there!

I know it can get rough especially when daylight savings comes around. The dreaded one hour less of sleep is hard on us all. The only good thing that does come about when we shift times is summer hours resume! We are now back to being open Monday – Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 12-6. This should make it easier on anyone who has a tough time making it in after work. Don’t forget that tomorrows weather forecast is predicted to be close to 70 degrees! So be sure to plan your “Ferris Buller’s Day off” ASAP!

When it starts getting warmer, one of the best things to do is ride your bike for ever and ever without a big back pack. But what if you want to lock up? Where do you put a book? A tube? A snack?
