We have been getting a lot of questions about which sizes we have in stock so I did a little inventory to let you know. I’ll try to keep this updated with the current inventory. If you want to order one just call the shop or shoot us an email. You can pay over the phone or we can send you a paypal invoice. Shipping is $50 in the lower 48 US states. Everyone loathes having to wear a helmet, especially us ladies. Bern has been a god sent to most of us that want a non “team extreme” style helmet. But the Lazer Amour helmet is a great option for those that want a good in between. The Amour helmet has the look of a Bern Helmet, but the light weight of a traditional road helmet. They also come with a dust bag which can come in handy when your driving to the mountain or flying on a plane. We have them in stock in both matte black, black, and matte white. Leo came in about a year ago with a bike that was far, far too big for him. He was looking to ride it all the way to Toronto, and to be honest we were a little concerned for him. But Leo wouldn’t budge from his choice of steel steed.

“The bike is my dad’s 1986 Univega, it had been in our shed before I was even born,” said Leo.

A few months later, he stopped by again, and told us that he had done it, on the vintage Univega.

“I took the summer off from my last two semesters of school, I wanted to get out of here and do something ridiculous and I was scared if I didn’t do something, I was going to be totally unmotivated to finish my degree,” said New England Institute of Art graduate. ” I’m a musician and I wanted to write a record based on the experience; I did it for myself, and I did it for other people as a reminder to be passionate about their lives.”

Leo signed his bike with the names of everyone who donated money to his adventure.

The trip took eight days, and unfortunately a fall cancelled the return trip.

“Honestly, I wasn’t looking forward to biking back, I fell a few miles away from the United States border in Canada, they wouldn’t admit me to a Canadian hospital because I was an American Citizen, and I ended up getting taken back to the United States to get treated for my injuries.” “The two EMTs stayed with me were very nice, one was a marathon cyclist, and the other one was a musician (like me), I thought it was pretty interesting how out of all the EMT’s I ended up with two so relevant to my interests.

So what is he up to now that he’s back?

“I’m hoping to get my music out there and start playing shows to get a bit of a fan base around the boston area, because ideally I’d like to somehow miraculously get signed to a label so i can bike from city to city to play shows. i think that would be outrageous and i feel like people would be more inclined to come see me. AND, i can start writing my 2nd album!”

Stocking back up for the spring weather, we just got in a new shipment of Chrome bags and shoes. Chrome has been doing a lot of great collaborations and special series. We brought in The London Series, which is “inspired by all things punk, ale, and tweed”. As usual we have in the messenger bags, packpacks, and phone pouches. The best thing about these bags in none of them costs over $140, for those looking for a durable yet economical bag. The Kursk Pro sneakers for those who haven’t heard or are still in a search for a non-tech looking SPD shoe. They have had the best life span out of all the models that we have carried. But the real item to run in for is the phone pouch, these little guys sell like hot cakes! They cover your phone or elctronics fully and have a little hole for your headphone cable. The best part is they are large enough for your smart phones!

Superb Sprint: Custom Build

We finished up Luke’s Superb Sprint Custom Build and despite the grey sky, shot some photos of the finished result. Came out pretty good, reminds me of a penquin. Parts run down. 51cm Sprint Frame, Velocity B43′s laced to Superb Hubs, EAI Cranks and BB, Thomson stem, Cinelli Pepper Bars.

We are starting a Custom Build for Luke this morning. Luke grabbed our last in stock matte black Superb Sprint frame (More coming soon). He choose a black and white theme with some velocity wheels, Cinelli Bars, Thomson Stem, and EAI Cranks. Lookin good so far. Look for the completed shots soon!
