Sturmey Archer developed this internal fixed gear hub and actually had Igleheart build up a bicycle inspired by it. The mechanisms are all the same as a traditional internal hub and you can even throw on a different cog to convert it into a coasting 3 speed. Igleheart’s vision of this 3 speed fixed gear comes with cruiser bars, a set of Paul cantilever breaks, a front rack, IRD classic crankset, Brooks leather saddle, and all the eyelets in the world for you to mount whatever your heart desires on this bike. Old School Nostalgia: Before Superb

Before Superb Bicycle there was Boston Bicycle… It’s been over a year since we’ve renovated and forgot that at one point we didn’t have chandeliers. To remind us of our roots, Adult Swim has posted up an episode of Assy Mcgee called “Bikes for Bombs” featuring Boston Bicycle back in the day. You can view the episode here. At 3:52 into the episode you can see a shot of the shop slightly redrawn and renamed “Radical Bike” for copyright purposes I’m sure. They have the rooftop fire escape, fire hydrant and even the crooked fire alarm post down in their exact locations! Comparing the cartoon version, Boston Bicycle, and Superb Bicycle it really takes us back!

If you guys have the time, I would also sit down and watch the whole episode. It’s pretty damn funny even for non cycling enthusiast and also features an Eddy Merckx in the shop that’s accurately drawn. John Prolly did a post on it comparing it with a real Eddy Merckx a while ago.

Igleheart Track Frames

We recently received 6 hand built custom ordered Igleheart Track Bikes. We bought the tube sets for these over 2 years ago, and finally got around to having Chris weld them up for us. 3 of the 6 frames were then expertly painted either Grey Metallic, Purple, or Teal by John Bow, the other 3 frames are raw and are awaiting a Powder Coat from Sugar Coat, which is included in the $999 purchase price in what ever color you desire. There are 2 frame sizes, the smaller size measures 53cm on the seat tube center to top, 52cm on the top tube center to center, the larger size measures 57cm on the seat tube center to top, and 55cm on the top tube center to center. We built up the 52cm Purple Frame set with some very nice parts and the complete is on sale for $1899. Some highlights of the build include a Velocity B43 Wheelset, Sram Omnium Crankset with 3RRR Mighty Pimp Chainring, Nitto Bars, Stem, and Seatpost, with a Turbo Saddle.
